How AddisFly Uses Your Data — Service-Specific Disclosures
Last reviewed: 26 October 2026. This section describes, specifically and in plain terms, what AddisFly collects when you use addisfly.com and our booking services, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. Where it differs from the general terms above, this section governs.
1. Information we collect
- Traveller and booking details — passenger names as they appear on travel documents, date of birth, nationality, passport or ID number and expiry, contact phone and email, and the itinerary you request. Airlines and immigration authorities require these to issue a ticket; we cannot complete a booking without them.
- Payment information — the amount, method, reference number and status of payments. Card and mobile-wallet details are entered with the payment provider and are not stored on our systems.
- Card payments — when you pay by card, your card details are collected directly by our payment processor (Mastercard Payment Gateway, provided through Zemen Bank) on its secure page, and are used to process the payment, verify it with 3-D Secure and prevent fraud. AddisFly receives only the payment result, a receipt number and a masked card number (for example 512345xxxxxx0008); we never receive or store full card numbers or security codes.
- Communications — messages you send us by email, website chat, Telegram, WhatsApp or telephone, retained so that a later enquiry about the same booking can be answered.
- Website usage — pages viewed, searches run, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and comparable technologies for three purposes: to keep your session working, to understand how the site is used, and to measure advertising.
- Strictly necessary — session cookies that keep you signed in and secure your form submissions. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4, which tells us which pages and routes are used so we can improve them.
- Advertising and measurement — Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, used to measure whether an advert led to an enquiry or a booking.
We operate Google Consent Mode v2. Visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland begin with advertising and analytics storage denied until consent is given. Visitors elsewhere begin with it granted, and may withdraw consent at any time by using your browser's cookie controls or by contacting us at the address below.
3. Google user data and Limited Use
AddisFly connects to Google services to manage our own business presence — Google Business Profile, Search Console, Analytics, Google Ads and YouTube. The account that grants this access is our own company account; we do not request access to any customer's Google account.
AddisFly's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, data obtained through Google APIs is used only to operate and improve the features described here; it is never sold, never transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide those features or where required by law, never used for advertising, and never read by humans except with explicit consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or where the data is aggregated and anonymised.
4. Who we share information with
- Airlines and global distribution systems (including Travelport) — to search availability, hold seats and issue tickets.
- IATA and its Billing and Settlement Plan — for settlement of tickets issued under our accreditation.
- Payment providers and banks (including Zemen Bank and Mastercard for card payments, and telebirr) — to take, verify and reconcile payment.
- Visa and immigration authorities — only where you have asked us to support a visa application.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for their own purposes.
5. How long we keep it
Booking and financial records are retained for the period required by Ethiopian tax and IATA settlement rules. Communications are retained while they remain relevant to a booking or an open enquiry. Website analytics are retained on the default schedule of the analytics provider.
6. Your choices
You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it for legal, tax or settlement reasons. You may also object to marketing messages at any time; every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
7. Contacting us about privacy
Write to [email protected] or call +251 978 077 878. AddisFly is an IATA-accredited travel agency operating in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
