AddisFly - GDS Live Booking — Search, Book, Issue
GDS Live Booking — Search, Book, Issue (Click by Click)
Book a flight inside the system through Travelport (live GDS) — search, create the PNR, and issue the ticket without leaving the Booking form. Use this when you want the system to do the GDS work for you; use Manual Intake instead when you already booked on the GDS terminal and only need to record it.
Where to open it
- From an Opportunity → New Booking — the customer and route are auto-filled.
- The form shows a green LIVE · GDS — Travelport badge once it is in live mode.
Step 1 — Search Flights (Ctrl+F)
- Set Operation Mode = Live Booking (the Search Flights dialog opens automatically).
- Origin, Destination, Date, Cabin and Passengers are pre-filled from the Opportunity — adjust if needed.
- Click Search. Live Travelport results appear (airline, times, fare, baggage).
Step 2 — Select the flight
Click Select on the best option. The system auto-fills the segments, base fare, taxes, service fee and total — you do not type fares.
Step 3 — Create PNR
Click Create PNR. The booking is sent to Travelport, the PNR is auto-filled, and status moves to Pending Ticketing.
Step 4 — Issue Ticket (Ctrl+I)
Click Issue Ticket → confirm. The e-ticket number is auto-filled, status becomes Issued, and billing follows the normal flow (service fee confirmation → invoice → payment).
If the GDS / API is down
Switch to Manual Intake — book on the GDS terminal, then record the PNR, ticket and fare by hand. Manual Intake always works without the API.
Live vs Manual — which track?
| GDS Live Booking | Manual Intake | |
|---|---|---|
| PNR / ticket / fare | system fills them | you type them from the GDS |
| Best for | new agents, complex routes | high-volume, you already booked |
| Needs the API up | yes | no |
