AddisFly - Pricing — Fees & Commissions

Two separate money concepts — configured in different places, never mixed:

  • Service Fee — what AddisFly charges the customer (added to the ticket price).
  • Commission — what AddisFly earns from a portal/partner (e.g. the ethio-telecom labour portal pays 10 USD per ELMS ticket).

Service Fees

Managed in Service Fee Rules (/app/service-fee-rule). The mode is set in Booking Settings → General → Service Fee Mode (keep this Rule-Based).

Which rule applies — priority, first match wins

  1. Partner Account rule — Partner Account → Service Fee Rule (for B2B credit/portal partners)
  2. Customer rule — Customer → Default Service Fee Rule
  3. Customer Group rule — Customer Group → Default Service Fee Rule (set once per group)
  4. Booking Source rule — a rule whose Booking Source matches (e.g. ELMS)
  5. Default rule — the Service Fee Rule flagged Is Default (everyone else, including the public website)

Within the chosen rule the fee comes from the matching tier (route type / class / fare band / category). If no tier fits, Booking Settings → "When No Fee Tier Matches" decides (Set 0 = manual entry / Flat Fallback / Block Issue).

Current setup

  • Default = Standard Retail Rates — Domestic 200; International 1,500 → 3,800 by fare band.
  • Non-IATA Standard Rates (lower) applies to the Non IATA Travel Agency customer group.
  • ELMS Flat Fee = 10 USD on ELMS bookings.

Pricing a new non-IATA agent

Set the customer's Customer Group = "Non IATA Travel Agency" — they inherit the Non-IATA rate automatically. To override one customer, set their Customer → Default Service Fee Rule.

Public website

Online prices have the service fee baked in and hidden from the customer (one all-in price). Toggle: Booking Portal Settings → Search & Airlines → "Bake Service Fee into Online Price". The website uses the default rule unless you create a Service Fee Rule with Booking Source = Website.

Commissions

Managed in Commission Programs (/app/commission-program). Each program = trigger (ELMS / booking source / ticket category / partner) + amount + currency + FX mode + when earned. ELMS is the seeded program: 10 USD per ticket, earned when Issued + Paid, converted at the dated USD→ETB rate (auto-maintained from Telebirr). To add another market/portal, just create a new program — no code.

Preview before it goes live

/app/fee-preview — enter a hypothetical booking (route, class, fare, source, customer, partner) and see the exact service fee + commission the engine would apply, and which rule won and why. Use it to verify configuration before it affects real bookings.

Who can edit

Service Fee Rules and Commission Programs are editable only by Booking Admin and System Manager. Everyone else has read-only visibility.
