Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary:

AddisFly is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will also handle budgeting, expense tracking, and financial analysis to support the company's financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management: Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system.
3. Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
4. Bookkeeping & Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
5. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
6. Monitor expenses, revenues, and financial trends to provide insights for decision-making.
7. Tax & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
8. Prepare and file monthly VAT, payroll taxes, and other statutory financial obligations.
9. Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities when necessary.
10. Payroll & Expense Management: Process payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
11. Track business expenses and manage reimbursements.
12. Implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize financial efficiency.
13. Collaboration & Advisory: Work closely with management to provide financial insights and recommendations.
14. Support the procurement and operations teams by managing financial transactions effectively.
15. Assist in developing internal financial policies and controls.
16. Training: Stay updated on the latest travel industry trends, booking software updates, and company policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Educational Background: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the travel or service industry.
3. Technical & Financial Skills: Proficiency in accounting software such as Peachtree, or ERP systems.
4. A strong understanding of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations. With Excellent bookkeeping and financial reporting skills.
5. Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
6. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Amharic.
7. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling bookings and customer information.
8. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot booking issues and provide effective solutions.
9. Sales Skills: Proven ability to meet sales targets and promote travel packages.
10. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using various travel software.

Working Conditions:
